USE TOR AS PROXY

Using Tor as a socks proxy can be beneficial for specialized tasks, but beware proxychains / torsock can "fail" (possibly leak IP address) a more fitting solution is a firewall forced torification solution, such as Tails / Whonix.

The following can be used to proxy any application. Consider the value in doing so for end-to-end encrypted messengers.

Where Tor adds multiple layers of connection, as well as encryption before traffic reaches the internet (with exit nodes you rely on your end-to-end encryption, or https for clearnet browsing)

STEP #1: Start Tor Client

systemctl start tor
